Numerical and Experimental Research on the Influence of Clearance Between Impeller and Cover on the Pump Performance

Centrifugal pump is widely used and plays an important role in national economy. However, according to plenty of engineering practice model tests, it indicated that the clearance between impeller cover parameter for leakage loss hydraulic efficiency. In this paper, a single stage centrifugal was selected study influence on performance through combination experiment numerical simulation. Commercial software ANSYS CFX employed simulate internal flow field with 0 mm, experimental verification carried out. The results presented only small difference generated simulation, maximum error less than 4%, which can ensure accuracy calculation. At same time, by comparing simulation 0.1 0.22 0.42 mm 0.62 found increase clearance, impact at tongue significantly improved. addition, effect water flowing out from interferes inlet gradually improve. Finally, different were verify result. Therefore, research have significant guiding design future.
